To weed or not to weed, that is the question.
Our gardens are a gateway, a wildlife corridor that links humanity with nature. Did you know in cities, we often spend 90% of our day indoors? As we become more absorbed and reliant on science and technology, we forget sometimes, that the simple things - such as stepping outside - are the most nourishing. Every garden has the potential to remind us to slow down, to reflect and immerse ourselves in its beauty and healing properties.
Living on the outskirts of a concrete jungle, we see our woodlands and green spaces disappearing under the strain of housing and agriculture, ancient forests that provide a buffer and critical role in diffusing air pollution. Even the weeds in our gardens are fast becoming a last sanctuary and source of nutrition for the birds, bees, butterflies and beetles - but our way of life and the solutions we adopt are upsetting the natural balance that we so crave.
We are at a turning point, a strive to be more mindful, more organic, to reconnect with nature. For every breath you take in, you breathe the air that sustains the world outside your window. A garden is a gift, however great or small, a tiny patch of Earth that is ours to nurture and learn from. Embrace your garden, love it and above all, take time to just sit in it.
